Oh my!

Geez it's been forever since I've updated.

Life just got to me, that's all! I did many things, including graduation. Over 500 people, it took FOREVER. FOREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVER, but time slowed down as I waltzed across the stage. 12 years of schooling condensed into "Hug, handshake, handshake, grab diploma with the left, shake with the right, turn to the camera and smile" and then you're done. Talk about surreal.
And then we had Senior night, where we drove all over the zombie-infested Texas countryside to the wrong Main Event, and I won a 10$ gift certificate to the local ice cream place... and it's really 5$. And the girl who already had an iTouch won another. But hey, it was fun spending the entire night with best friends.

And so I've been doing nothing but art since school let out because, frankly, that's all I want to do. I'll have to find a scanner to scan things in to prove things, since I am no longer allowed to use the scanner in the art room. :(

Hopefully I'll be a touch more active from now on, since the end of my senior year was full of stupid projects and exams; I'm trying to sleep off the huge sleep debt I amassed from the excitement.

Also, two days ago? Our house almost got hit by a tornado. All the news stations were covering the storm; a tornado hit where the family ate the day before (I got to watch the damned thing blow fuseboxes and things, the wonder of TV). Then they switched to a view of a lake and they said something along the lines of "And here we can see another touchdown; this one in *insert Lake that is so close to my house that I can almost see it*" I watched a tornado suck water up from a lake AND my house in the same screen. Of course the entire family was freaking out because the sky was green and it was raining so hard that you couldn't hope to see out the window. We all huddled in the closet under the stairs with the dog until we decided it was safe. I freaked out so much because the lake ALWAYS breaks up tornatic storms... and so I chatted with Tori on YIM from my phone until I calmed down quite a bit. It takes something serious to even ruffle my feathers.
Luckily our place was intact; the power didn't even go out! Of course there was a flurry of excitement on Facebook and some friends had pool furniture blow around their yard and such. I drove through the neighborhood just across the way and there are entire trees and limbs scattered EVERYWHERE. I've lived here for nearly 18 years and I have never EVER seen anything that bad. So that's my excitement for the summer.

I think I learned how to digital paint. Only took a few years. :D

Just a very quick (no more than 10 minute) doodle. I need to go to bed now.

a "WHAT'S YOUR REAL AGE??!?!?!?"test and apparently I am 13.
Don't know what to make of that.

I just realized that it's been a while since I've updated. To tell you the truth, I've been kinda busy. Getting more homework and fretting about my Studio Art portfolio (and not doing anything about it) has not helped one bit. It doesn't help that I play Final Fantasy III in all my classes either.

Also, I think I am loosing it. When I came home from dropping my sister off at music lessons there was a cup of tea brewing on the island. I don't remember making it. Not complaining, though. Tea has kept me alive these past few days.

Don't know if there's any Muse fans around, but they're supposed to be touring this fall. Ashton has promised to take me to a concert if they started touring again so I'm going to nag him until he agrees. I've never been to a concert before, so it'll be awesome. Everyone comes to Dallas and if not I'm sure we can drive down to Austin. I love my GPS unit!

And my pocket has vibrato. Time to heap off to IHOP! Mother is gone with my smaller sister on a camping trip so the rest of us eat out every night. It's nice getting food I actually want to eat. :)

Gah, still can't get Loud Twitter to work again. Whoops.

Anyways, still been busy... been slogging day to day and slowly loosing momentum. :(

I decided to try something new yesterday... a simple figure doodle in French Class turned into this. I think my favorite thing is that I did it without reference.

I honestly think it turned out pretty awesome! Something different from what I usually do. It actually prints pretty damn good too!

I got accepted to UNT today, but that's to be expected. Here's hoping they kick off their Animation program before next semester. :D

My desk lamp has burned out and I can't figure out for the life of me what bulb it takes. Sadness.

I'm not sure what to think. She confronted me about it this morning and since then has been overly sweet and cheerful to me. O_O

Don't you all worry, I've got too many things going for me to do any of that stuff. plus even the thought of it terrifies me

So my Tweets aren't working, even after I ordered them to continue. I'll have to tinker with things after Saturday.

What, you might ask, is Saturday? Why, only a statewide art competition! I'm entering one of my portfolio pieces and probably will be one of the only people submitting a digital piece. I can see why; the contest requires documentation of the processes you went through and inspirations, hardware and software used, etc, etc. Oh well, if it'll make it easier for me to get into the finalists, then so be it! I will remain optimistic about the whole thing for once. I also got my piece printed out and it looks pretty spiffy, even if the printer screwed up the colors a touch. I didn't want to bug the poor Kinko's employee any further. His expression when I told him I wanted to be a game animator was priceless though. :)

DSCN9894 Isn't it lovely? Also, those are the VP shoes I will probably never finish. Sigh.

I also took a quick photo or two of the interesting sunset. It's spring here in Texas as there are leaves and flowers in the trees and it was almost 90 degrees today. Cripes. And this room is so stuffy and I want to open the window but it's supposed to storm.

Quick rundown of recent events because I have been too busy to update this blog. :(

I finally applied to UNT a few days ago. Acceptance is inevitable. Also, they're supposed to finally start an Animation program in the near future. SCORE, I won't have to go down to Dallas.

They're supposedly building a Disney theme park here soon. I find that very amusing but it'd be really awesome.

Hedgehog is inevitable. Through my careful phrase planning like "when I get my hedgehog" and random tidbits about hedgehog keeping I think I have finally bent my parents to my will. So I'm expecting a little whiffly-nosed creature after graduation. Having a friend who can get you a discount on them helps too.

School has become a blur of boring events. Senioritis has hit me pretty hard, though I am not nearly slacking off as much as my peers. I still do my work, though it takes some motivation.

I really can't wait for the cruise in April. Really can't. :D

And I can't find the Coraline soundtrack anywhere. I really, really, REALLY want it. Saw the film the last weekend in 3-D and it was completely FLAWLESS. That film totally FLOORED me. I'd gladly watch it 4 or 5 times more.

Valentine's Day: love it or hate it?

You have no reason to truly hate it unless you've been to High School. I swear, it's like a contest to see whose boyfriend went broke the fastest.

It's a nice idea but personally I never wanted my boyfriends to get me anything. A box of chocolates was nice but I never wanted anything more from them. :P

Also, my bitterness has no relation to me being single for several years. I've chosen to be single for a reason. Can't wait to get out of High School.

A Sad Day.

music: Again and Again - The Bird and the Bee

Today I said goodbye to my best friend of 8 years- he's going back to live with his parents for the rest of his senior year (thankfully he's coming back in time for my birthday to go to college with me). He was staying with a friend of his but he absolutely hated it as he lived on hot pockets and had nothing to do. He dropped the hint that he wanted to hang out with me today so I took the chance and we hung out this afternoon, even though my mother was fairly miffed at me. It was fairly bittersweet as he's a wonderful guy and we look at each other as siblings. I drove over to the Square (basically a whole bunch of shops in mid- 20th century buildings around the courthouse- we are in the deep South) and we walked about and chatted a little and took pictures with swords until we were chased off. We also had ice cream in the best ice cream place around and had those creepy old people who just sit outside in cafés for obscene amounts of time stare at us and give us funny looks. We're an odd couple; I'm short, neat, and look fairly savvy. He's tall, scruffy, and looks like... well... a rock musician.

Then I drove him over to the mall where he formally quit his job and we then took off towards his place. We ended up chatting for over an hour in the car about our futures; he's going to make it big I think. He's absolutely brilliant at music. It takes a lot for me to like music as I'm a snob about it but he's always had great potential. And I'm doing album art for him so I have to have faith of some kind. :)

I actually cried as I was driving back when his favorite song popped up on the CD I was listening to.

On a lighter note, you guys should see the chain of comments we have going on one of today's pictures I put up on Facebook. It started with Zelda CD-I quotes and it just degenerated into Rickrolling each other. :D
